How does the 14-day Essential trial work?
Start it from your billing page — no card needed, one trial per account. Add a card during the trial and Essential carries on as a paid plan. If you don’t, on day 14 the Essential features pause — your logo and colours, the loyalty card, the extra menus — and your menu stays live on Free. Everything is kept for 30 days: pay in that time and it all comes back on. We email you 3 days before the trial ends, on the day, and a week after.
Do you take commission on orders?
Never. Octopus Menu charges a flat monthly fee and takes no cut of anything you sell. No platform cut, no per-transaction fee, nothing hidden.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees. No questions asked. You can cancel from your account settings in under a minute.
Do I need technical skills to set up Octopus Menu?
No. If you can use a smartphone, you can set up Octopus Menu. You can be live in minutes. We also offer a free onboarding session on Essential and Growth plans.
Is my data secure and GDPR compliant?
Yes. Online Marketing Solutions Ltd (trading as Octopus Menu) is a UK company and follows the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. Your data is hosted in the UK and the EU, and encrypted at rest and in transit. Full details in our Privacy Policy and GDPR page.
Can I use my own branding?
Yes, from Essential upwards. Add your logo, apply your brand colours, and the “Powered by Octopus Menu” line goes. Growth adds your own web address, so guests open your menu on your domain rather than ours.
What happens if I move to a smaller plan?
Nothing is deleted straight away. What the smaller plan can’t include — extra live menus and dishes, QR codes, photos beyond one per dish, your loyalty card — is switched off or moved to draft. Move back up within 30 days and it comes back on its own. After 30 days the photos that were taken off are deleted; everything else stays in your account. The same applies when an Essential trial ends without a card.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation. After 30 days it is securely deleted in accordance with our GDPR policy.
Covered twice: a 14-day Essential trial, and 30 days money back on your first charge.
Try Essential free for 14 days, no card needed. And on any paid plan, if you’re not happy in the first 30 days after your first charge, we’ll refund it in full, no questions asked.
