The scene we kept watching.
Octopus Menu started because two hospitality regulars kept watching the same scene play out: a waiter apologising for allergen information that didn’t exist, a paper menu that was wrong before it left the printer, a guest who couldn’t read the menu and ordered the safe thing instead of something they’d have loved.
The tools to fix it existed — but they were built for enterprise chains, not the independent bistro with six tables and a changing menu every weekend.
So we built something that fits how independent venues actually work: fast to set up, simple to run, and priced so it’s never the reason a small venue can’t use it.
